The purpose of cell and bacterial disruption is generally to extract specific components within the cells or bacteria (such as proteins and nucleic acids). Ultrasonic cell disruption has been a reliable method with established reproducibility over many years, but it has traditionally been difficult to uniformly process multiple sample specimens simultaneously. The UIP400MTP ultrasonic device can uniformly process 96 samples across various shapes of 96-well plates, achieving excellent cell disruption and extraction yields. Thanks to the custom-made sonotrode for wide areas, which is unique to Hielscher, uniform cavitation allows for uniform processing of 80-90% of the tubes in a 96-tube setup. Recovery rate = 80-90%.
